I spent my spring break in AZ and UT doing some canyons and Southwest sightseeing with Andy. Another wonderful trip!

cuilleree > Day 2. We decided to drive to the ranger station in southern Utah to see if we could get permits to hike to The Wave the next day. By some stroke of amazing luck, we did (even though the quota is 20 per day and there were about 60 waiting).

This is me in the parking lot discovering what happens when you leave your sunglasses in the outside pocket of your day pack and repeatedly throw it up a very narrow slot canyon (Water Holes narrows).

cuilleree > On the way back from the ranger station we stopped at the Visitors' Center at Glen Canyon Dam (the damn dam, as I like to call it). It was interesting to see what books they were selling--Desert Solitaire, but no Monkeywrench Gang. :-)

I had been to Antelope with my dad in 2004, but Andy had never been. Since we had spent most of the morning getting Wave permits, we needed a short and sweet activity for the afternoon. It was spectacular, as usual, but the crowds take a lot of patience.
