Canyoneering July 2009 : Team Leeroy--me, Andy, Mike, John, Joel, and Monica--had a nice canyoneering trip in Arizona near Page and Camp Verde. Due to an unfortunate twisted ankle I was forced to take a day off from canyons, but I visited Montezuma's Castle and Tuzigoot instead. Fun trip.

Chaco Canyon 2009 - Sierra Club Service : From June 13 to 19, 2009, I participated with the Sierra Club on a service trip in Chaco Culture National Historic Park in New Mexico. We did work around the park to improve trails, the campground, and prepare for future projects. We even got to participate in an archeological dig! Chaco is one of my favorite places on earth, and on this trip I got to know many people who have close ties to the park. It was definitely one of my favorite summer trips ever.

Sierra Club Backpacking Trip August 2008 : During the last week before the school year started, I did my third annual Sierra Club backpacking trip, led by Greg Hill. I had met Greg and Fats the previous summer and was happy to hike with them again. We started out with ten group members but ended up with only six. Our path took us from Bishop Pass into the Evolution Valley, along the JMT, and out Lamarck Col. It was an awesome trip!
